Funeral:  1 Aug 1914, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in the residence of Mrs. Wm. R. Granger, 3705 Hamilton St. attended by relatives, friends, and survivors of the 15 Pa. Calvary

Mr. A.O. Granger, Bartow County developer, died in Philadelphia at 3:30 Thursday morning after an extended illness.  His wife left Cartersville to be by his side and was with him at his death.

Mr. Granger resided in Cartersville 15 to 20 years becoming a developer of the resources of the county and was actively associated and in charge of the Blue Ridge Mining Company, now the Etowah Development Company. He was involved in many enterprises and active in civic matters as well as government.

Mr. Granger was the private secretary of Gen. William T. Sherman during the war.

Survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Hansell of Atlanta; four sons, Henry Granger of South America,  Rene Granger of Panama, N.N. Granger of Cartersville, and Sherman Granger of Montreal, Canada.
