Mrs. G. Abernathy Rites Held Friday Afternoon 

Died:  24 Dec 1958 / Rydal, Bartow, Georgia, USA

Funeral services for Mrs. Grover C. Abernathy were held Friday afternoon at the Macedonia Baptist Church on the Canton Highway, with Rev. Bill Howell officiating.

Mrs. Abernathy passed away at her home in Rydal on Wednesday night at the age of 70.  Before her marriage 56 years ago, she was the former Miss Franke Mae Abrams, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lula Bryant Abrams.

The deceased is survived by her husband, six sons: Homer Abernathy, Charles Abernathy, George Abernathy and Bandy Abernathy, Bartow County; Elihu Abernathy, Canton; Edward Abernathy, Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Abernathy, Cartersville; two sisters: Mrs Mattie Graham, Cartersville; Mrs. Beulah Reece, Chattanooga; a brother: Horace Abrams, Lyerly and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Interment was in the church cemetery with Owen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
