LULA WHITE MOSS


Died at Rockmart

Mrs. J.E. Moss, aged 70, of Rockmart died on Monday, January 5th in the Rockmart-Aragon hospital after an extended illness.

Mrs. Moss, the former Miss Lula White was born in Bartow county on September 2 1888 and had lived near Rockmart for the past 37 years.  She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist church near Rockmart where funeral and interment services took place on Tuesday afternoon, January 6th at 3 o’clock.  The Rev. Dewey Penson and the Rev. J.F. Wallace officiated.  Her sons served as pallbearers. 

Mrs. Moss was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. White who lived for many years in the Pine Log-Rydal section before moving near Rockmart.  She was preceded in death by her husband in August 1957.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. A.P. Fuller and Mrs. Edward Kelly both of Rockmart; six sons, Fain, leonard, Claude, Carl and Edward Moss, all of Rockmart; and W.M. Moss of Cedartown, three sisters, Mrs. Tom Moss of Calhoun; Mrs. W.T. McCown of Cedartown; and Mrs. Joe McCown of Rockmart; three brothers Carl, Robert and Mack White, all of Rockmart.  Nin grandchildren and three great grand children also survive.

Mrs. Moss’ son, Carl, has been seriously ill in a hospital for some time and has been too ill to be told of his mother’s death.
