WILLIAM HENRY SPENCE



W. Henry Spence Passes At Home, Rites Thursday

Born:  23 Dec 1888 / Pickens County, Georgia, USA
Died:  4 Jan 1959 / Emerson, Bartow, Georgia, USA

Friends will regret to know that Mr. William Henry Spence was found dead in his home in Emerson late Monday by neighbors.

According to the inquest held by Mr. Will Gaines, coroner, Mr. Spence passed away from a heart attack.
The deceased was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Baptist church.

He was born in Pickens County December 23, 1888, the son of the late John A and Ellen Jordan Spence.
His wife the former Aline Spate preceded him in death in 1954.

Mr. Spence is survived by a brother, Jack Spence, Cartersville; three sisters: Miss Daisy Spence, Cartersville; Mrs. Boy Perry, Acworth; Mrs. W.A. Armstead, Atlanta; two step daughters: Mrs. Homer Cliett, Cave Springs; Mrs. Lance Brown, Sheffield, Ala.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at the Emerson Baptist Church by Rev. Earl Kimsey and Rev. J. Howell Perry.

Nephews of the deceased will serve as pallbearers and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, with Owen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
